PROGRAMS
OPTIMAL CAREER PERFORMANCE AND DEVELOPMENT FOR THE PROFESSIONAL DOG TRAINER
This program focuses on the professional development of the individual dog trainer... the most important end of the leash for long term success in this industry.
In this program dog training is only part of the curriculum... I want my coaching clients to see long term success in a number of areas and have the tools and attributes to face challenges whether in this industry or in other areas of their lives.
It combines videos, readings, and weekly live presentations and group coaching.
When developing this course I wanted to focus specifically on the challenges we face and stick to scientifically supported approaches to help my colleagues, their clients and the dogs they work and live with who need guidance or are stuck... all of the time focusing on achieving a set of realistic and measurable standards.
(Interesting note... the background picture is actually one of my clients who sailed up the entire East Coast with his dog.)

A ONE YEAR PROGRAM TO INVEST IN A SUCCESSFUL CAREER
THE PROFESSIONAL DOG TRAINING INDUSTRY DOES NOT HAVE A "DOG TRAINING" PROBLEM.
IT HAS A "PROFESSIONAL" PROBLEM.
To be successful long term in any industry requires a plan, a path and a guide. In an industry like ours with zero barriers to entry we are facing an epidemic of colleagues who achieve success without a plan, fight to maintain it and often fail.
This is an extensive curriculum that teaches a diverse range of science-based, effective strategies for addressing a number of areas to achieve long term success in this industry. The goal is to improve wellbeing, gain knowledge and level up using the latest insights from fields of psychology, neuroscience, ethology. business and more as it relates to success in the our industry.
We will use the Professional Development Wheel as a guide to find long term success in this industry (and outside of it), by helping our clients with the struggles they face, truly understanding our dogs as well as our client's dogs, addressing the challenges they face in the modern world, maximizing our individual strengths, building resilience, fostering good relationships with both clients, colleagues and those outside of the industry, establishing goals and maintaining the motivation to achieve them.
