HELPING DOG PROFESSIONALS
WORK... PLAY... & GROW
IN THIS INDUSTRY!
BEHIND THE MINDSET THERE IS A METHOD.
WORK... PLAY... & GROW.
IT"S A CHALLENGE TO DEVELOP THE RIGHT MINDSET...
TO FOCUS ON THE DOGS...
TO WORK ON OURSELVES...
TO LEVEL UP OUR OWN BEHAVIOR...
SET GOALS...
BUILD RELATIONSHIPS...
FIND MEANING IN OUR WORK...
DEVELOP OUR STRENGTHS...
BUILD RESILIENCE...
GET AWAY FROM THE TOXICITY...
& TRULY PROFESSIONALIZE THIS INDUSTRY.
Somewhere in the never-ending drive to push forward training dogs and crushing goals... we often leave part of ourselves behind.
We start to see the dogs and clients as just ongoing problems to solve.
The industry is suffering with trainers burning out and then leaving after only a few years or worse,
they stay and suffer while their businesses, relationships and health deteriorates.
Long term success in anything is about building a foundation,
developing attributes in a number of areas,
seeing the dogs, the clients and ourselves differently
and in the process finding the passion to enjoy what many call the "daily grind"
but some of us call a "daily opportunity".
IF ANY OF THIS SPEAKS TO YOU & YOU ARE STUCK I HOPE THIS HELPS.

I'M JOHN.
I’m a professional dog trainer, a mindfulness practitioner and coach, positive psychology nerd, former paratrooper, ex-cop, University grad and former Fortune 500 Corporate lab rat.
That wild ride has allowed me to come to learn a few things about coaching to include mindset development, motivation and learning, performing to a standard and facing challenges...
and unfortunately I learned some of them the hard way.
I've been helping my fellow colleagues for over 3 decades in multiple career roles... from the military, to law enforcement, to a Fortune 500 company and finally as a Canine Professional mentoring others, serving as a committee chair and overseeing multiple committees while a member of the Board of Directors for the International Association of Canine Professionals... now I'm focusing on the Pro Dog Trainer Mindset.
I hope the information provided through this project helps my colleagues become better dog trainers and humans and work to be more present for the little things we encounter daily.

"I am so much more confident than when I started. I am also more open minded than when I started. Thank you for your encouragement, for your teaching and for all of your conversations."
